Anne playing tennis and to store. I went to see Dr. Hilliard. Typped grenoble story. Children and I to Maugham's " Quartet" movie. good.

Anne gave me wooden salad in bowl. Harold an Hugh left for Harward. I went to committee on Culture.

Sat.
By Parmelee to N. W. station. Took bus to 84th street to Art Institute - saw pictures and Italy exhibit, to Fields and library. On city of San Francisco at 7.

Mon.
Anne washed. I had a permanent. Cold, dull weather. Harold's secretaries came, letters etc.

1953
Tue.
To shop and to D. P. Library, bank and Post Office. Cool and Cloudy. Wrote letters. Reading " Mariam Evans and george Eliot."
