38TH CANADIAN INFANTRY BATTALION OPERATION ORDER NO. 33.

1. The 12th Canadian Infantry Brigade will move into Divisional
Reserve on July 11th 1918.

The 38th Canadian Infantry Battalion will move by train from CALONNE
RICOUART to MARQUEUIL. On arrival there they will be billeted in ECURIE
WOOD CAMP, A.21.c., Sheet 51.B.

2. BILLETING PARTY: As already detailed.

3. ORDER OF MARCH: The Battalion will move from LOZINGHEM to CALONNE
RICOUART in the following order:- Headquarters - Brass Band - "A" Coy. -
"B" Coy. - Bugle Band - "C" Coy. - "D" Coy. A distance of 100 yards will
be maintained between Companies.

4. STARTING POINT: C.23.b.50.80.

5. ROUTE: Starting Point:- AUCHEL - CALONNE RICOUART.

6. TIME: Headquarters will pass the Starting Point at 5.30 a.m.

7. ENTRAINING OFFICER: Lieut. A.J. Ballinger is detailed as Entraining
Officer and will report to the Brigade Entraining Officer at CALONNE
RICOUART, 7 a.m. to receive allotment of cars.

8. LEWIS GUNS: The Battalion will entrain with 32 Lewis guns and 24
magazines per gun.

9. MEALS: Haversack rations will be carried; water bottles will be
filled with cold tea before proceeding.

10. PETROL TINS: All petrol tins will be turned into the Q.M.Stores by
5.15 a.m.

11. DRESS: Marching order, helmets correctly strapped on back of packs.

12. TRANSPORT: Transport will march independently to the new area, in
the vicinity of ECOIVRES.

13. BAGGAGE: Officers' kits, mess equipment, signalling equipment and
Orderly Room supplies will be piled outside Company Headquarters ready
for loading at 5 a.m.

14. Kitchens will be cleared and ready to move off by 5.30 a.m.

15. SANITATION: O.C. Units will take the necessary precautions to see
that their respective billets are left in a clean and sanitary condition.
This matter is considered very important.

16. No rear party will be left.
