EMILE Sub-sector 1918 Mar 27 cont.
Guns lately established in vicinity of Horse Lines
drew counter battery fire. Principally overhead
shrapnel. Orders received that Battalion and
Transport Lines are to move tomorrow. Preparations
for move immediately commenced.
Weather _ cloudy and threatening at times, but clear-
ed in the evening, affording brilliant moonlight.
Planes active. RBO'S

do 28 One officer and 5 OR conducted reconnaisance. In-
formation was obtained and recorded. Hostile artillery
very active throughout the night and Gas Shells were
fired at us at interals in groups of ten and
fifteen. Their Trench Mortars were also active.
Counterbattery work was devoted to our guns
in vicinity of Souchey corner and CARENCY.
A few bombs were also dropped by Hun planes
in this district about 4.30 am.
Weather fine. Operation Order no 16 issued.
The Batt. will be relieved on the night 28th/29th
by the 5th Sherwood Foresters and on relief
will be billetted at St Laurence Camp. CHATEAU
DE LA HAIE. About 4.45 pm. Hun plane
