EMILE sub-section 1918 Mar 26
Hostile artillery and Trench Mortars active. Huns
also sent over fifty gas shells. One of our Patrols
bombed out an enemy bombing post. Our Patrols
engaged in reconnoitring work : obtained good
results. Three working parties aggregating
one officer and 72 OR were out. Two parties
succeeded in doing good work in deepening &
cleaning trenches. The third, owing to vigilence
of enemy were unable to do much in repairing
our wire. Considerable enemy movement
was observed. Unofficial advice re coming
more. Weather :- Cold and windy morning
with heavy clouds occasionally threatening.

do 27 Our Patrol detailed for duty at Listening Post, re-
ported that nothing unusual was seen or heard.
The Reconnaisance Patrol reported several inter-
esting incidents of some military value. Three
working parties aggregating one officer and seventy
two other ranks were engaged in widening, clean-
ing and deepening trenches, besides repairing
wire. Huns very active shelling back areas.
