tell tale smoke spirals testified to a dual suc-
cess on the part of the Huns. The men cursed
and in the same breath almost yielded grudging
admiration to their foes. Marching today was
under splendid conditions of weather, in great
contrast to our march in December from LOZING
HEM to CARENCY.
Weather :- Warm night, day with no wind. RBO'S

BULLY GRENAY 13 Batt. spent the preceding night at BULLY and as
per Operation Order no 13, relieved the 13th Can.
Inf. Batt. on the night of the 13/14. A sufficient
combination of 13's to interact most super-
stitious people. Transport lines at CARENCY.
Weather :- fine & bright throughout day. Cold at night. RBO'S

St. EMILE sub-sector 14 Our heay artillery & trench mortrs active, as also
were the enemy's. Weather was dull and misty
with poor visibility. Our Patrol parties were active,
without any important point to report. During the
course of the day, disposition of the Batt. was made,
cellar and dugouts being the chief shelter. RBO'S
