Batt. as per Oper. Order no 12 moved to BULLY
GRENAY. and Transport Lines of the Batt. were
established in their old quarters at CARENCY.
The outgoing Batt.. the 26th Canadians, had left
the Horse Lines in good shape, clean and tidy,
a very welcome change to our usual heritage.
The 38th boys were glad to get back to these lines
and thus have a chance to enjoy the results
of their own labours. An unwelcome, but
interesting incident marked the course of the
march. As the Batt. topped the hill, coming
up out of MARLES LES MINES, a wide view out-
stretched before them and the day being par-
ticularly clear, the observation balloons in
various areas could readily be observed.
Two, that the men, seemed to be old friends
near CARENCY, loomed up almost directly
ahead. Within a minute or so, instead of
the balloons being visible, the well known
