44th Can. Inf. Batt. on the night of the 10th/11th. On completion
of relief The 38th will be billetted in St. Laurence Camp,
CHATEAU DE LA HAIE. Works reports show that the men
on working parties are keen & obtaining great results.
A ripple of excitement was created in the later after-
noon by a wire stating that a Zeppelin was probably
approaching the LENS area. Weather dull. no rain. RBO'S

CHATEAU DE LA HAIE 11 Batt. at CHATEAU DE LA HAIE in St. Laurence Camp. Batt.
paid. Major English in Command, the Colonel being
away on a course. Our heavies were making a good
deal of noise, spasmodically, thro' the afternoon
and evening. Heard subsequently that some of our
people put over a successful raid. Weather cloudy & cold. RBO'S

do 12 Lieut. Col. J. A. Clark. D.S.O. in command of Brigade in
absense of Brigadier. Brigade (12th) at Gouy-Servins.
Paid in forenoon. Batt. cleaning up. Camp very muddy. RBO'S

do 13 Batt. carrying on & making strenuous efforts to im-
prove appearance & conditions in Camp. Wet day. RBO'S

do 14 Colonel with Batt. having returned from course.
