CANADA TRENCH 1918 Jan 15 cont.
Batt now in Baffefort in Canada Trench. Weather wet
with heavy winds. RBO'S

do 16 Batt. in support in rather poor quarters. Heavy drain re-
quired of men for working parties. The wet weather
being responsible for Trenches caving in. Transport
Lines paid in the afternoon. Weather. heavy rains with
strong wind. Improved in afternoon. RBO'S

do17 Batt. carrying on. Weather. rotten with downpours of rain. RBO'S

do 18 Transport Lines moved with great rejoicing to their
old camp at Carency. Previous to the trek on 5th Oct. to
Belgium, the personnel of the ransport & Quarter-
master's Sections had worked night and day salva-
ging & building their winter quarters. The Batt. re-
turned to this sector on the 18th December, but instead
of being sent to their own lines, were moved about in
the vicinity. This was reguarded by themen as an un-
necessary hardship and a good deal of disappointment
was evinced? The lines when reoccupied this after-
noon were found in a very dirty conditions.
Weather. Dull and mild without rain. RBO'S

do 19 12th Can. Inf. Bde relieved in MERICOURT SECTOR
38th Batt. relieved on night of 19th/20th and on com-
