and 23 OR. the third - 1 Off. 23 O.R., each party being equip-
ped with a Lewis Gun, the fourth, 1 Off. 1 N.C.O. 20 OR 2 scouts
& Lewis Gun, the fifth - 1 Off. 23 O.R. and Lewis Gun.
Artillery on both sides showed activity. 2 Working Parties
Weather:- Cloudy, with occasional showers. Wind. North East. RBO'S

do 14 Major Warren staying in Transport Lines. In accordance
with order Capt. R.B. Stuart left for England. At Front Line
situation was normal with our machine guns harassing
the enemy. Enemy's artillery active with thirty shells of
of 4.2 H.E and 75 rounds of 77's. Our working parties
did good work in clearing out trenches and repairing.
Patrols covered the ground assigned, returning full reports.
Weather:- snow flurries, with light north west wind and
poor visibility. RBO'S

Canada Trench 15 Major English arrived from Batt. H.Q. to remain for a
few days with Transport, there to introduce and place
under the care of the Paymaster, a system by which Bat-
talion H.Q. will be supplied daily with a report of Strength
at Transport Lines and attendant casualties. In
accordance with Oper. Order no 3, issued on the night of the
13th the Batt. was relieved by the 72nd Can. Inf. Batt. and
moved into support. Location Canada Trench. The
relief was concluded during the preceding night.
