NEUVILLE St. VAAST 1918 Jan 1
Batt. at NEUVILLE ST. VAAST under command of Major
ENGLISH, the Colonel being on leave. All ranks were
located in HILL Camp. Huts were well arranged and
commodious? and tho' climatic conditions were bad,
men were comfortable. A large "Y" was located in the
camp, and that combined with the Batt. Canteen af-
forded the men every opportunity for purchasing all
they needed. Officers huts were well arranged, per-
mitting th officers of each company good sleeping &
messing accommodation together in separate huts
per company.
Transport Lines located at ODILLON Camp - CARENCY - where
a good old fashioned New Years dinner was enjoyed
by the men. Working & wiring parties provided by Batt.
Weather:- cold in the forenoon but clear, with planes active.
Very cold at night with snow falls. RBO'S

do 2 Batt. carrying on training. Working parties at night
doing good work and putting up a lot of wiring.
Weather:- cold in the am with snow. Very mild late
in the afternoon, thawing, followed by snow at night.
