of Cigarettes and other presents sent to the Batt. Frater-
nizing with the enemy was the last thing the men
would have thought of doing and orders forbidding
same were superfluous in regard to the 38th. All ranks
made the most of the means at their disposal for the
enjoyent of the day, those who felt a bit homesick
covering their feelings with a Camouflage of laugh
and jest. Weather:- rain of preceding day had
melted the snow, but late in the afternoon snow again
fell heavily RBO'S

do 26 The men in the foward areas had the advantage over
those in Blighty in that this was not "the morning
after. Weather: Snow deep on the level. Mild. Moonlight
with a large number of planes passing in the vicinity RBO'S

do 27 Day quiet, but at night, the aeroplanes took advantage of
the brilliant moonlight & worked overtime. Heavy wind
in daytime and bitterly cold.

do 28 Financial retuns for the month submitted to Cashier.
Very strong wind in the evening and very cold.

do 29 Operation Order no 112 issued. Batt. relieved by 46th
Can. Batt. Relief commenced at 6 pm. On relief Batt. at
Neuville St. Vasct.?
