28th cont. Operation Order no. 104 issued, covering Operations of the 12th Cdn. Infantry RFP
Brigade for the proposed attack on PASSCHENDAELE RIDGE on the morning of Oct. 30th.

The 38th Cdn. Infantry Battalion is to be in Brigade Reserve, moving
forward from POTISZE AREA on the night of October 29th. "B" and "D" Companies
to take position in the vicinity of AUGUSTUS and HILLSIDE FARM and "A" and RFP
"C" Companies to the Area of BEECHA and ABRAHAM HEIGHTS, Battalion Headquarters RFP
to be at SEINE, d.16.D66. Referenced sp? zonnebeke 28 N.E.

The attacking Units are 72nd, 78th, and 85th Cdn. Infantry Battalions, 85th on
the right, 78th in the centre and 72nd on the left. The first Australian Division are RFP.
operating at the same time on our right, and the 3rd. Cdn. Division on our left.
The Brigade objective is that section of the Ridge immediately in front of
PASSE HENDAELE, running North from YPRES to ROULLERS, taking in CREST FARM
and North towards GRAP? WOOD

29thThe day was devoted to preparations for the move forward to-night
with reference to supplies and material for the attacks. The equipment of each RFP.
N.C.O. and men included, two water bottles, one filled with tea, three ounces of
solidified alcohol, three pairs of socks, and a supply of whale oil.
