STAPLES 1917 Oct. 17
Batt. in STAPLES area. Very warm forenoon. Meeting
of C.O's at 9.30 am. Hun aeroplanes bombed St.
OMER at noon. Heavy wind in afternoon. Rain at
night. RBO'S

do 18 Very mild morning. Capt. K.A. Greene, formerly acting
adjutant? 38th went from Batt. to act as 2.M. at 4th
Can. Divisional Reinforcement Camp. RBO'S

do 19 Very damp & dark morning. Colonel Edwards DSO
went to Popperinghr. RBO'S

do 20 Bright weather. Headquarters men had a social dinner. RBO'S

do 21 Batt. at Staples still. Preparing for inspection by dne? of
Counaught. Bombing in area at night. Operation
Order no 102 issued. Extracts:--
The 38th Can. Inf. Batt. will move to the BRANDHOEK
AREA October 23rd. Transport will march by road
and personnel will be transported by motor bus.
