at STEENBECKE about 3.30 pm. Operation Order no 101
issued. Extracts:-- The 38th Can. Inf. Batt. will move
tomorrow the 13th nist? from the STEENBECQE AREA to
the STAPLE AREA. Starting point LA BELLE HOTESSE
road junction, one and one half miles north west of
STEENBECQUE. time 8.45 am. Wet afternoon & night. RBO'S

STEEN-
BECQUE 13 Wet morning. Left Steenbecque church at 8 am
Arrived at STAPLES at about 11.30 am after a wet
march & officers & men were billetted in area. RBO'S

STAPLES 14 Btt. in STAPLES area. Headquarters & companies
some distance appart. Men drying out. RBO'S

do 15 Part of Batt. paid in late afternoon. No rain, but cold. RBO'S

do 26 Balance of Batt. and staff of Brigade paid. Occasion-
al showers through the day. Officers went to Popper-
ingue to see large map showing future battle area.
HIgh wind after sunset. RBO'S
