Lieut. Col. Edwards D.S.O. returned from leave and resumed
command of the Batt. relieving Major R.F. Parkinson
who had acted as Commanding Officer from the
eleventh of the month. Hun planes very active in the
late afternoon and also early in the morning. Magni-
ficent summer weather. RBO'S

do 23 Batt. at Gouy Servins. Heavy frost this preceding night
& quite cold in early morning, but warm & bright into
the day. Hun planes very active about 10.30 am. Our
archies were ignored. Batt. being re-inoculated. RBO'S

do 24 Batt. at Gouy. Training at the "Tapes."? Very hot & bright
weather. Hun planes active in vicinity & rear. RBO'S

do 25 Banquet of Batt. Officers Mess. Major Ower guest of
honour. Huns planes active. RBO'S

do 26. Batt. training at "Tapes". Cloudy weather in after-
noon and evening. Lieut. P. Gardner has hemorrage
from old wound and goes to Field Ambulance.
Operation Order no 92 issued. Extracts:--
The 38th Batt. will relieve the 44th Battalion in Sou-
CHEZ Camp tomorrow the 27th inct.? The Battalion
will parade at 1 pm in battle order with steel helmets
