Support Line 1917 Sept. 18
Batt. in Support. Warm but dull weather.
Operation Order no 99 issued. Extracts:--
The 38th Can. Inf. Batt. will be relieved in the Left
Subsector on the night of the 19th-20th Sept. by the 102nd
Can. Inf. Batt. On relief the 38th Batt. will be in
Divisional Reserve at GOUY SERVINS.
The route to be followed on the way out is CLUCAS TRENCH
to VIMY-ANGRES Road. From there follow pipe line to point
where it crosses main road through GIVENCY turn to the
right about fifty yards and follow new road running
over Ridge to road running through ABLAIN ST. NAZAIRE to
GOUY-SERVINS. All movement during aylight must
be through the trenches until over the Ridge.
Completion of relief will be notified to present Battalion
Hdqrs. by using the code word "Glad". RBO'S

Support Line 19 Batt. in support. Very bright & warm day. Fritz aeroplanes
active in rear areas, trying for Observation Balloons frust-
rated by A.A.'s fire. Reparations under way for relief. RBO'S

Gouy Servins 20 Operation Order no 99 executed. Batt. in Gouy Servins.
Fine weather. Men delighted to be in their neww quarters. RBO'S

do 21. Batt. at Gouy. Paid during the course of the day. RBO'S
