Front Line 1917 Aug 26 cont.
This was followed by an extensive explosion. Half an
hour later two further explosives were observed here
at 8.10 pm. another explosion the heaviest at this
point, occured. The house at N.27.b.25.30
is believed to be used as an observation point.
New work appears to be in progress at N.27.b.15.48.
Enemy movement has been observed at N.27.d.8.7.
throughout the day.
Operation Order no 94. issued. Retracts follow.
On the night of August 27th/28th, the 38th Batt. will be re-
lieved by the 72nd Can. Inf. Batt. On relief the 38th Batt.
will be in Support, taking over the present dispositions
of the 72nd Batt. Companies being distributed as follows.
"A" Co. in RED LINE from left of LA COULOTTE
"D" Co. in RED LINE from right of Light Railway to LENS-
ARRAS ROAD
"B" Co. in IRISH, IRISH SUPPORT and along Railway with
Headquarters at S.6.c.85.90.
"C" Co. in PARTRIDGE and BORDEN trenches and alongside
Railway. Headquarters at s.6.b.6.5.
Battalion Headquarters in Anxious trench at S.6.c.2.8.
Relief will not commence before 9.15 pm and no
