shallow places and shell holes. The Road at N.32.b.90.
95. leading across to SHERBROOKE Road is passible.
The river starts at N.26.d.50.35. its source being a
very strong spring at this point. SHERBROOKE
Road is a solid, walkable way made with slag
and cinders. DOLPHIN ROAD and
among the trees which are cut down as far as N.26.
d.50.100. The ground from this point inside the line of
trees to DERBY ROAD is high and dry but the ground
from N.26.d.65.80, running back to the bridge N.26.
d.70.40. and along the river to N.27.c.15.86. forming
a triangle, is more or less under water, marshy,
the ground soft but passable by following the high
spots. I followed along the marsh by the river
