Company front there was a steady bombardment of Sulli-
vn trench at N33.c.1.8. at 4 a.m. Their Machine Gun
fire was above normal in the night with occasional bursts
along roads in our area today. Their sniping was more
active than usual about 4.30 a.m. There was systematic
rifle fire along our front line trench parapet of right Com-
pany. Some enemy sniping comes from direction of rail-
way embarkment N.26.b.0.9. to N.26.b.6.5.
Very few hostile aeroplanes succeeded in crossing our line,
except for a short period this forenoon, when flying very
high, four enemy machines patrolled over our support
trenches. Many hostile observation balloons were up.
Observation of enemy rockets this morning would indicate
that his S.O.S. is continuous red lights with white
flares to signify all quiet. In this morning's oper-
ations, enemy machine guns were firing from N.
20.0.6.88. to N.20.c.90.80. RBO'S
