"I am in receipt of the following telegram today from the
General Officer Commanding, 12th Canadian Infantry Brigade, Brig-
adier General J.H. MacBrien, D.S.O.: -- "
"Please coney my congratulations to Sergt. Langdon and
Private O'Toole on their very successful reconnaisance car-
ried out in Saline and Sallow Trenches. The information
gained is very valuable."
"I wish also to add my appreciation of the good work
done and information obtained by your patrol yesterday."

Intelligence reports covering period from 9 pm. Aug 12th to
9 pm. Aug 13th 1917.
Our artillery has been active throughout the period, with
particular reference to enemy back areas. At 3.00 am
today, a bombardment was directed on the following
targets, SALARY, SALLOW, RED CHATEAU, MEANDER, METAL,
