Front Line 1917 Aug 13.
Operation Order 91. indicated co-operation of the 38th
by sharp bursts of fire from all available Lewis Guns
at Zero hour of the morning of the 13th, in conjunction
with the projection of gas on the enemy.

Operation Order 92 issued. Extracts. The 38th Batt.
will be relieved in the left subsector by the 72nd Batt. on night
of August 13th/14th 1917. On relief the 38th Batt. will be in
support on the let, taking over the disposition of the 72nd
Batt. After relief our Companies will move to following
positions. "A" Co. relieves forward Company 72nd Batt. in
PARTRIDGE and BORDEN. "C" Co. relieves Co. of 72nd Batt. in
IRISH and BORDEN. "B" Co relieves Co. of 72nd Batt. in RED
LINE between LENS-ARRAS ROAD and CYRIL C.T. "D" Co relieves
co. 72nd Batt. in RED LINE left of CYRIL.
