was below normal. Machine Gun fire was observed from
N.26.b.6.4. Two many planes crossed our lines, one at
8.00 am and one at 6.30 pm. At the latter hour, plane
came as far back as LA COULOTTE under heavy machine
gun fire. This morning enemy working party of
six (6) men were again seen in Trench at N.21.d.8.8.
Some movement was also observed around Fosse 4.
At 9.30 am there were six (6) explosions at N.21.b.1.3. At
9.40 am two (2) heavy explosions at N.21.a.9.3. At 1.30 pm
two (2) explosions at N.21.a.6.7.
Operation Order 89 was issued and executed. Extracts.
The 38th Batt. will be relieved in the line tonight by the
72nd Batt. On relief the 38th Batt. will be in support in
the left subsector, with "A" and "B" Companies in the
Red Line, and "C" and "D" companies in BORDEN and
PARTRIDGE. Battalion Headquarters will be at PIANO
