Front Line 1917 Aug 3 cont.
have been our Assembly Trenches. RBO'S

do 4 Batt. in Front Line. Covering the period from 9 pm
Aug. 3rd to 9 pm Aug 4. The following reports were made.
Our Artillery has been normal throughout. During the
nght our heavies were active on enemy front line systems
with particular attention to railway embankment at
N.20.a.3.2. to N.27.c.2.3. Harassing fire was directed
on enemy rear areas and communications. Today
our heavy artillery intermittently shelled Railway
Embankment and hostile batteries. A light barrage was
placed at 5.15. pm and N.28.a. Another feint barrage
was directed on AVION towards Southern Corps at
5.35 pm while at 7.30 pm sections of LENS were
heavily shelled. There was no enemy retaliation to
any of these shoots. Our Stokes Guns were active
in replying to enemy Trench Mortar fire uring the
