at N.26.c.9.9. When fired on this party quickly dis-
persed in a north easterly direction. RBO'S

do 2 Batt in Front Line. Summary of Intelligence for period
from 9 pm Aug 1st to 9 pm Aug 2.

Activity of our ARtillery less than in the past two days.
There has been little fire from our Field guns but the Heavy
Artillery has ired intermittently throughout the period
on Areas in LENS, SALUMINES and AVION. The usual
harassing fire was carried otu during th enight on ene-
my's back areas and communicaitons, while a barrage
was placed at 4.45 am today from N.20. Central to
the North. Our Stokes guns engaged an obstacle at
N.33.a.2.9. at 5 o'clock this morning firing (50) fifty
rounds with satisfactory results. Brigade Machine
guns directed about 6.000 rounds on selected tar-
gets, while Lewis guns carried on usual burets of fire.
