Batt. at Canada Camp. Chateau de la Haie. Rehearsal for next
show "over the top". Heavy showers in afternoon & evening.
Transport Officers entertained by Gen. MacBrien in evening
Dinner -- Communication received from G.O.C. 1st Army
through the usual channels re award of VICTORIA CROSS
to a/ Major T.W. MacDowell D.S.O. RBO'S

do 22 Batt. at Chateau. Wet weather. Training for "over the top". RBO'S

do 23 Att. at Chateau. V.C. Banquet to Major MacDowell. Gen.
MacBrien was present and in his speech gave unstinted
praise to the V.C. hero. RBO'S

do 24 Batt. at Chateau. Men paraded before P.M. in order to
have "Regt. Depot. Seaford placed in their pay books.
Books for advances in lieu of cheque books issued.
Training for "over the top" at which American officers were present.
Operation Order no 84. issued. Extracts follow.
The 38th Can. Inf. Batt. will relieve the 44th Can. Inf.
