Front Line 1917 June 19 cont.
with two weeks ago. A new Assembly Trench has
been dug from T.1.c.45.75. to S.6.b.8.5. and fire-stepped through-
out. PARTRIDGE front line trench has been widened, deepened
& fire-stepped to the extent of 250 yards. LLOYD and CLARKE
communication trenches from IRISH trench in the front line
have been widened and deepened, & all junctions between front
and support lines and C.T.s improved. Little enemy work
is reported apart from his activity in repairing wire.
Each morning about 5 am explosives have been heard in
enemy back lines in the vicinity of AVION from N.31.c.8.8. to
N.31.d.1.8. and continuing in straight line back to about
N.31.b.7.2. On the whole, the attitude of the enemy during
the past seven days has been passive. Oper. Order no. 83 obeyed. RBO'S
