Front Line 1917 June 18
On completion of relief, Company Commanders will report
same by wiring in to Batt. Hdqrs, the word "CROSS". "A" Co
will not be relieved by anyone and will move out after being
phoned from Headquarters the word "Wood." RBO'S
Front Line 19th Batt. in front line. Wet weather. Our artillery almost con-
tinually action. About 100. H.E. shells were directed against
N.32.c.2.5., another 100 of same calibre against N.32.c.9.5. & N.28.
Central was dealtt with to the extent of about 100 H.E. shells.
Early this morning considerable shrapnel was burst at T.1.a.
9.9. N.31.c.9.6. and T.1.a.5.9. The usual destruction was
caused to Enemy defences around LA COULOTTE, AVION and LENS.
Approximately 100 Stokes bombs were fired early this morning
while Graunatauwerfers were used this forenoon on enemy
post. For half hour periods at various times during the night,
Lewis guns carried on bursts of fire on enemy lines, routes
and at 3 am this am, fire was directed on an enemy working
