of their Machine Guns was below normal. Their rifle fire was
active at dawn. Their aircraft showed very little activity. RBO'S

do 18 Our Artillery was very active during the entire past 24
hours with both H.E's & shrapnel. Our Stokes bombs being
also very much in evidence. Of our snipers, Privates
Collins and Mills each claim to have got a Hun. At
7.47 pm 12 of our aircraft were observed, apparently
returning from a raid. In the forenoon tow of our planes
were observed over La Coulotte. The Enemy's artillery
was considerably above normal, using H.E. shells freely.
About 4.20 this a.m. he also used shrapnel. Givenchy
was heavily shelled yesterday afternoon. In several instances
his shells have been hitting his own trenches. His Trench
Mortars were also active. Their Machine Gun fire was
normal but their snipers showed considerable activity
during last night. Enemy observation balloons were
