Front Line 1917 June 16 cont.
active over enemy front. Late yesterday afternoon there was
hostile shelling about T.1.C.5.5. T.1.c.2.6. & S.6.d.8.8. while this
afternoon IRISH TRENCH and the LENS-ARRAS road were shelled.
On the whole their artillery activity was below normal. Thirty
Granattenwerfers bombs were fired at T.1.a.6.1. & T.1.a.6.4 during
the night. Their Machine Gun fire was below normal. Their
snipers were active during the night & their aeroplanes made an
effort this morning but were driven back.
