Front Line 1917 June 13 cont.
covered enemy back areas during the night. Our sniping
was active on exposed enemy posts in front line area.
Between 4.30 am & 11 am this morning six of our aeroplanes
patrolled our lines and crossed over enemy lines under fire
from A.A. guns and machine guns. Last evening many
gas shells were directed by the enemy towards this section
our front and immediate support lines & also all along
the front line system being likewise heavily shelled. Several
direct hits were made on our trenches. About 4 am today
15 explosions occured behind the enemy support lines.
The past 24 hours have been inactive on the part of the
enemy, except for artillery activity last night. RBO'S
