Batt. in Canada Camp. Chateau de la Haie. Major Parkinson in com-
mand. Brigade SS ? and Battalion paid. Representatives showed
up well at boxing bouts held in evening. Officers regimental dinner
at night with Brig. General, Brigade Major, Staff Captain and B?
ing officer of the 12th Brigade as guests. The motif of the ban-
quet was the anticipated return of the Colonel of the Batt.
Lt. Colonel C. M. Edwards D.S.O. from B?lighty, he having recovered
effects of the wound received on April 9th. Short speeches
were delivered by Major R. F. Parkingson, who expressed the
appreciation of the 38th Officers of the presence of the Brig. Gen.
and voiced the delight of the Batt, officers and men in wel-
coming the Colonel back to his duties; by Brig. Gen. Mac?ieu
who in the course of his remarks stated very explicitly that the
38th were THE fighting Batt. of the Brigade; and Lt. Col. Edwards
whose every sentence showed the satisfaction he felt at
being once more with his gallant command. RBO'S
