Lewis gun in the line also been carrying on fire
on the same object and it is believed that this has
had a very material effect in decreasing hostile
sniping and machine gun fire.
Operation Order No 77 by Major R. F. Parkinson, Command,
?g 38th Can. In?f Batt. May 27, 1917.
The 47?th Batt. will relieve the 38th Batt. in Right Sub Sector
on night 28th/29th May. On relief the Batt. will move back
to CHATEAU DE LA HAIE into accommodation to be arranged there.
Each O.C. unit will detail one officer or senior NCO and two
men to report to the adjutant? by noon the 28th met to proceed
with Liet. Elder to take over accommodation at CHATEAU DE
LA HAIE and act as guides for their units on arrival.
O.C's Units will be responsible that all LEWIS Guns and ma-
gazines, periscopes, very Light Pistols, Petrol tins and dixies?
are brough out and that trenches are left in a clean condition.
"A" and "B" Co's will send one cook each and "C" and "D"
Companies two cooks each with billeting parties to CHATEAU
DE LA HAIE to take over Kitchens and rations and prepare
and serve hot cocoa in addition to regular breakfast
on the arrival of units at CHATEAU DE LA HAIE at approx-
imately 4.00 am 29th May.
