Batt. in Front Line as per Batt. Oper. Order No 76.
Last night between eleven o'clock and midnight, 25/26, Hun aeroplane
passed over Transport Lines and dropped six bombs immediately across
the road from our lines. No casualties. A patrol in charge of
the Batt. Intelligence Officer, Lieut. A. ? Margies? thoroughly inspected en-
emy wire on the Right Sub Sector Front during the night. It was found
that our Artillery fire yesterday afternoon for the purpose of wire
cutting had, in many cases, covered the area in rear of enemy
wire, rather than damaging the wire itself. Now S. 6. b. 9. 8. to T. 1
a. 1. 9. enemy wire was found in very good condition. From T.
1. a. 1. 9. to T. a. 15. 85. slightly damaged. From T. 1. a. 15. 85 to T. 1. a
35. 70. the good condition & very thick. From T. 1. a. 35.
70 there is a gap about 15 yards in width. From T. 1. a. 37. 70
to T. 1. a. 45. 65. wire is in pretty fair condition with 25 yards
badly damaged and two small gaps. From T. 1. a. 45. 65 to T. 1.
a. 55-60. in good condition with the exception of one small gap.
