Our aeroplanes have been continuously overhead this
afternoon, carrying on reconnaisance under heavy enemy
A. A. gun fire. One of our machines was seen to descend, ap-
parently by reason of hostile fire, but under control, in the
vicinity of S. 16 Central at 3 o'clock this afternoon RBO'S

Batt. in front line, left sector.
Except for intermittent shelling along the IENS-ARRAS
ROAD. and the Sunken Road marking our left flank,
hostile artillery fire has been very slight on this front.
at intervals throughout the day there has been some enemy
registration on our front lines. At 4 am today the area
of the Brigade on our left was heavily shelled for half
an hour. At 4.45 this morning an enemy plane,
flying very high crossed over our lines as far as Batt.
headquarters, but returned immediately. At 5.30 am
