4. ARTILLERY (Continued).

(c) BACK.
This is formed by one third of the available
guns and plays on the objective immediately in rear of the
moving marrange. As the movning barrage reaches the back
barrage the latter lifts to the next objective.

3. The various objectives are now being subjected to
heavy fire from guns of all calibre. This bombardment will
be maintained up to the hour of assault.

5. ASSEMBLY.

(a) PERLIMINARY ASSEMBLY.
38th Battalion to use BLUE BULL TUNNEL as per sketch
issued. Before entering tunnel, men will be issued with
equipment they will carry over (except picks and shovels) -
see General Instructions TOOLS.

(b) JUMPING OFF POSITIONS.
See Diagram "D", Battalions will commence filing into
Jumping Off Positions at ZERO minus one hour. Movement to be
complete by ZERO minus 30 minutes. Each Unit to report to
Battalion Headquarters (B.B.Tunnel) at once that their
assaulting troops are ready.

6. LOCATION OF HEADQUARTERS.
Advance Bde. Headquarters HOSPITAL RIDGE S. 14 d 4. 8.
38th Battalion head of BLUE BULL TUNNEL S. 14 d 8 1/2. 9 1/2.
72nd Battalion head of GOBRON TUNNEL S. 14 b 8. 5 1/2.
78th Battalion head of VINCENT TUNNEL S. 14 d 9. 2.

7. TRAFFIC CONTROL.
(1) Forward Trench Area.
See Diagram "D" already issued.
(2) Traffic Control in Tunnels.

8. COMMUNICATION.
Cable buried from Brigade Headquarters to Battalion
Headquarters.
On second night buried cable will be run to junction of
BARGE and BASSO Trenches. This will link up with Advanced
Battalion Headquarters.

9. OBSERVATION POSTS.
72nd Battalion to establish one in vicinity of MONTREAL
CRATER.

38th Battalion to establish one in vicinity of No. 2 or
No. 3 Craters

10. MANAGEMENT OF SUBWAYS.
