from direction of Minnen? Weffer Lager. There was some
sniping done from the direction of CLAUDE and CLUCK. RBO'S

do 13 Batt. still in Front Lines, but were relieved in the course
of the day, going to huts in Chateau de la Haie, where
a first rate hot dinner had been provided for them by
Major Ower, Quartermaster. Weather was mild but great
drifts of snow showed at different places by the roadside. RBO'S

Chateau de la Haie 14 Batt. moved from Chateau de la Haie to Coupigny
in the afternoon. Hercin received several Hun shells.
Very wet with rain and snow alternating. RBO'S

Compigny 15th Batt in coupigny huts. O.R. were paraded to the
baths in Hersin throughout the day. From the baths
they were paraded for pay and received from Capt.
O'Sullivan double pay, he having made arrange-
ments with the Field Cashier for same. During the
course of pay, German shells fell frequently
in the vicinity, and the involuntary ducking of
their heads y the men, as the shells passed over
showed very plainly the nervous tension of the
preceeding week. One of the men, who had been
