although flares were seen coming from points on each
side of them. Private Nunny also got off his bearings
when going out to post at junction of CYPRUS and
CLUCK, wandering across tot he railway track. He
came across several Bosches whom he called upon to
surrender. These turned and ran. When he struck
the light railway track, he went along it to where
it crosses contour 110 at s.15.a.9.7. He saw Boches
in CLAUDE TRENCH at this point. He then came into
junction of CYRUS and BABY. He reported that the Huns
were putting up flares from what appeared to be CLUNY
Trench at s9.c.4.1 1/2 and along this locality also. His
flares were going up in CLUCK Trench from S.15.b.6.7.
The Boche seem to be holding this locality with Machine
guns. During the attack of the 10th Brigade this
morning, the Boches only put a few shells along our
sector, some of them being duds. During the day
his artillery was quiet with the exception of a few
shells just over towards the Crater, and a little
shrapnel. His machine guns were active firing
