Front Lines 1917 Ap 10 Batt. in Front lines - Lieut Jarvis Wounded. LtCol Edwards D.S.O goes to England, wounded, Battle proceeding.
artillery has been quite active, firing on the Claude Trench
along S.15 a 7 1/2 to S.9.c.1. Our Brigade Machine guns
were quite active, firing from crater no 5 at S.15-c 9 14
with direct fire on CLUTCH TRENCH and road at S.15 G-6.8. Battalion
Machine guns were also active along these
points and also firing on the Claude Trench. There was
considerable sniping also at last named points. Our
aircraft flew well over the enemy line this morning
while observation was possible. A new enemy
battery was active firing from the northeast of no. 5
crater, quite a few shells lighting on this vicinity,
also dropping a few shells along our old line from
8.14.d.g.4. to S.14.G.8.4. a few shellings dropping in
the rear of this. A light battery located firing on our
new position from S.15.a.5.3. to S.15.g.1.5. Our artillery
were advised of this and attention is being paid to it.
There was some enemy machine gun fire from the
