Trenches 1917 Ap. 6 cont
medium trench mortars fired on targets in the vicinity of
the junction of CLUTCH and CYCLONE Trenches.
Both shoots apparently had good results.
Vickers machine guns fired as usual during the
nght at interals and also early this morning. Our
Lewis guns were active at intervals.
Last night two of our planes flew over the enemy's lines
showing red and green lights with a white tail light.
The enemy used search lights and also apparently
fired his machine guns at them. Last evening
about 6 o'clock and at intervals during the evening
our planes flew over the enemy's lines with very
little attention paid to them, some A.A. guns
fired but no machine guns, nor were there any
enemy planes in sight. Today, however, while our
machines patrolled, there was much A.A. firing,
some machine gun firing, and one of our planes
was brought down, about 10.30 am, in flames
by a Hun machine, about s.15. Central. Further
