Annual Meeting Athens June 22nd 1858.
The Board of Trustees this day convened at the usual
place of Meeting at 9 OClock A.M. agreeably to notice
Present the following members,
Solomon Howard, D.D. President, Hon AG Brown,
Hon John E. Hanna, Hon. John Welch, Hon. Sam'l
B. Pruden, Rev Amos Miller, Leonidas Jewett
Horace Wilson and J.M. Dana Secretary
The minutes of the last meeting were read
The President presented his annual communication
of the State of the University & also as to expenditures
from his contingent fund, which were
read and on motion referred to a committee
consisting of Messrs Welch, Pruden & Brown.
The President reported that Francis Dighton Cauley,
Samuel Adams Kistler, Robert Henderson McGonagle
James William Murphey, John Nelson Pelcher,
Burton Briggs Sheffield had completed their
course of study and sustained a fini Examination
On motion the degree of A.B. was conferred
upon said young gentlemen.
The President also reported that William L.
Hindman has completed his scientific course
and sustained a good examination.
On motion the degree of B.S. was conferred
upon him.
The Committee on Examinations made
the following report, which was ordered to
be recorded to wit:

Gentlemen;
The undersigned,
being part of the Examining committee appointed
at your last meeting to attend the Examinations
of the Students at the close of Each term and
