Annual Meeting August 1st 1855
Mathematics. To fill the Professorship of Mathematics, I
would recommend Prof William H. Young, the present
Principal of the Preparitory Department.
Of the fund set apart by the Board for the purpose
of providing assistance in the Preparitory Department,
75$ have been appropriated. Two classes the first
Term for the teaching of which 30$: Two classes the second
Term 30$: and one class the third Term 15$.
There has been paid for Room Rent 185. 50/100$. Many
of the Rooms have been papered and neatly fitted up by
their occupants, in accordance with the resolution
of the Board on the Subject.
Some repairs will be necessary the
Coming year. The buildings need repainting
on the outside and the Cupola and Belfry are
suffering decay for the want of painting and other
repaires.
I herewith also submit, in compliance with
the order of the Board an account of the contingent
Expenses of the University incured and paid under my
directions since the last meeting of the Board.
