Annual Meeting. Wednesday, August 2. 1854
General Assembly, asking the revission of the
debt of the University to the State Sinking Fund, and
on motion, Judge Pruden was added to said Committee.
Mr Miller, to whom was referred the petition of a
number of Students asking a change in the Term
and vacations of the University, reported favorably
to the object of said petition, when, on motion
the subject was referred back to Mr Miller to report
thereon to the next meeting.
On motion, the Acting Committee were
authorized to settle with the Athens Band, and
to allow for their services on commencement day,
a sum not exceeding $25.00
On motion, Resolved, that the Faculty be
authorized to admit free of tuition, one Stu=
dent, of good character and qualifications,
from each County in this State, on the cer=
tificate and recommendations of the Com=
missioners and Auditors of the respective Coun=
ties.
On Motion, the Board then adjourned
