- C. J. Trew died in 1769 & Georg Dionysius. Ehret the following year.
- Trew in his preface drew attention to its ' superiority to
the more scientific work of Morandi alike in accuracy of
colouring & in the copiousness of representing exotic plants!
- (Giam attist Morandi - Historia Botanica Practica
published in Milan 1744 - a 2nd ed. in 1761.)

- G. D. Ehret - german botanical draughtsman - for some
yrs. worked for Linnacus & Trew in Nuremburg. Later he
went to England where he was employed by Sir Hans Sloane,
the founder of the Brit. Museum.

Nurnberg : N. F. Eisenberger . 6 vol - 616 engravings.
- The original work appeared 1737 - 39 in London at the expense
of the artist . The new ed. of Nurnberg was started on the initiative
of Christ. Jak . Trew & was enlarged by analyses of the organism
of blossoms & the addition of numerous new plants . N. F.
Eisenberger (1707 - 71) the engraver and publisher , was among the
best artists of Nurnberg engaged in the illust. of works on
natural history ; in 1733 & the following yrs. he furnished the
drawings for Trew's Vorzugliche Tafeln des Knochensystems.
