Suetonius whose Lives of teh 12 Caesars extend form Caesar
through Domitian (81-96 AD) belonged to the literary
circle which flourished under Trajan.

+ Marcus Antonius Sabellicus [inserted] (humanist, historian, + Librarian of St. Marks.) [end inserted] (Marcantonio Coico, 1436-1506)
Philippus Berouldus - one of the great literary men of the 15th C,
was professor at Parma, Milan, Paris + Bologna - edited a
great number of the classics. His commentaries
became very popular because they contained not only a
thorough exposition of the classical text but also many detailed
digressions on contemporary lige + personal matters.
