The earliest date connected with Benedictus as a printer +
not only as a publisher is that of the Suctorius of 5 April
1493. Except for periods of quiescunce during the greater
part of 1495 + the last 5 months of 1496, his press
was pretty continuously at work until the end of the
century (1523-last mention) B. Hectoris (belonged to the
Faelli family) - from 1493 - works as a printer by himself.
Apuleius, Lucius (Apuleius Barbarus, A. Platonicus or Pseulo Apuleius)
4th C Roman botanist - his Roman Herbal,
a description of plants + their properties, became a
model for the medieval herbals.
Apuleius was the 3rd classical author to be printed, being
preceeded only by Cicero + Lactantius
