Roan type in text, small roman + italic in the margins
(13 1/8 x 9 1/2 334x239mm) 91 woodcuts in Old Testament, 7 in the New.
Many large + small historiated + floreated initials.
Woodcuts -> almost all of which are from Hand Holbein's
1986 sold for $17,500 Icons. There had originally appeared in Historiarum
published by the Frellons in 1538 of which the 2nd edition
in the following year identified the artist. They were also
used in the Bible which Hugs de la Porte published
in Lyon in 1538. The work exhibited here is thus the
2nd La Porte Bible illustrated with the Holbein cuts.
