The resolution of the General Assembly, of June 1911, which
thus finally dealt with this long debated subject is as
follows: — "That in regard to the constitutional changes
proposed by the Trustees, the Assembly resolves as follows: —
"That the General Assembly, having before it the report of the
"Board of Trustees, with the resolution of the Board of
"date 26th April, 1911 regarding proposed changes in the
"Constitution of the University, and having regard to the
"report of the special Commission appointed to confer
"with the Trustees of the University which was submitted
"to last Assembly, and having regard also to the
"concurrence of very large majorities not only of the Trustees
"and of the Senate, but also of the University Council
"and of the Graduates, concerning these changes, "resolve,
"that the Assembly approve of the proposed changes
"in the Constitution of Queen's University and appoint
"a Committee to cooperate with the Board of Trustees
"in procuring the necessary legislation to give effect
"to those changes: — that the Assembly direct attention
"to the benefit conferred upon the nation by the
"Presbyterian Church in the founding of Queen's University
"seventy years ago, record its gratification at the
"prosperity and growing usefulness of the University and
"its deep and sympathetic interest in its continued
"welfare, and express the hope that, in becoming more
