interests alike of the Church and the University.
In the meantime, the Council would respectfully bring
the following points to the notice of the Assembly:

“(a) The resolution of the Assembly is virtually a reversal
of its previous attitude, and of all the steps which had
already been taken by the authorities to nationalize
the University.

“and (b) As the continuance of the present relations, between
the Church and the University, might impose
considerable limitations on the future development
of the University, the Council desired to draw the
attention of the Church to the gravity of the situation
created for the University by the action of the
Assembly at Vancouver, June 1903.”

The resolution of the Council, with the approval of
the Board, was transmitted to the General Assembly.
Continuing the discussion, it was agreed by the Board,
that having already stayed action in connection with
the proposed changes in the Charter, and in view of the
opinion of the Assembly’s Commission, to re-affirm the
resolution of September, 1903, and to continue in the
meantime the existing connection between the
University and the Church pending the Church’s
action in support of the University.
