Saturday Aug 31st 1867

Having got up so early yesterday I
returned rather early, as I was pretty
well tired out with the excitements of
the day. But just as I had got into
a comfortable doze I was awakened by
the anchor's being once more let go and
the tug coming alongside and making
fast, till this morning. I fell to sleep
again and slept very soundly although I
had to sleep on bare boards as I had
thrown my bed overboard, in the course
of hte day. Another long morning dawned
upon us and as we knew this would
certainly be our last day on the Wyoming
we dressed up in honor of the occasion
and to be ready to land. All of our
goods were collected together and bun-
dled up also; and then we had
our last breakfast, on ship-board.
After the ship was scrubbed down the
sailors and officers put on their Sunday
