Monday July 29

All night and part of the morning we had
a fair wind and made about nine knots
an hour. About eleven the wind changed
when in putting the ship about we broke
our mizen-royal yard. Our provisions
were served out this morning. The wind is
dead ahead tonight.

Tuesday July 30th

Disagreeable rainy day with strong head
wind; not very well today; lay nearly
all day in bed; about twelve a strong
gale sprung up during which we were
obliged to shorten sail.

Wednesday July 31

Very light winds all day from the west;
disagreeable and wet this evening.

Thursday Aug. 1

A very fine day with good fair wind.

Friday Aug 2

Fine day, fair wind. This evening we
had a lively dance in the Steerage.

Saturday Aug 3

A very calm day; no wind all day
